Franchino is set in Torre Annunziata, a town on the outskirts of Naples. It follows a small theatre company made up of high school students and guided by their elderly mentor, Franco.
Through theatre, the group begins to explore not only the stage, but the complex system of roles, boundaries, and power structures that shape their lives beyond it.
Against this backdrop, the story unfolds as a continuous, almost poetic struggle: that of a town caught between institutional neglect and the pervasive presence of organised crime. In this fragile space, theatre becomes both a refuge and a form of resistance:
a way to imagine different roles, and perhaps, a different future.
